Activity 2D: Nervous Tissue 🔬🧠
The nervous system is the primary control system of the body. It allows for higher mental function and emotional expression, and helps maintain homeostasis and the regulation of activities of the different biological systems and glands.
Some of the components of the nervous system I was able to illustrate were:
🧠 Cerebellum: the region of the brain responsible for proper balance, coordinated movement, and posture
🧠Cerebrum: the largest part of the brain, responsible for cognition and higher functions, sensory processing, and voluntary movement.
🩻 Spinal cord: transmits sensory information like touch, pressure, temperature, and pain from the body to the brain. It monitors ang relays sensations from receptors in the skin, joints, and muscles.
🧠 Nerve fiber: extensions of neurons that transmit electrical signals from the periphery to the central nervous system, and motor signals from the CNS to muscles and glands.
