Activity 8: The Reproductive System 🔬👩🏻‍🍼

The reproductive system is a complex, biological system comprising a network of organs involved in the reproduction of an offspring. It includes anatomical structures in both male and felates that are essential for reproduction. 

Male and female reproductive organs have different structures, each having their own role in the reproduction process. I was able to view the following structures under the microscope:

👩🏻‍🍼 Umbilical cord: a cord-like structure connecting the fetus to the placenta, facilitating nutrient and waste exchange between the fetus and mother.

👩🏻‍🍼 Cervix: lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina, serving as a passage for sperm during intercourse and as the birth canal during childbirth. 

👩🏻‍🍼 Human placenta: organ that develops in the uterus during pregnancy, allowing exchange of nutrients, oxygen, and waste products between the mother and fetus.

👩🏻‍🍼 Oviduct: also known as the fallopian tube, is the site of fertilization where the egg travels from the ovary to the uterus, and where sperm typically fertilize the egg.
