⟡ Nerve Fiber Teased – individual nerve fibers (axons) that have been separated or “teased” apart to be examined and are typically myelinated, meaning they have a fatty sheath (myelin) that insulates them and speeds up signal transmission; transmit electrical impulses between the central nervous system and peripheral organs or muscles

⟡ Mammal Cerebrum – layers of neurons with various shapes and sizes, including pyramidal cells; function of sensory perception, voluntary motor actions, reasoning, memory, and decision-making

⟡ Spinal Cord Frog – gray matter consists of neuron cell bodies, dendrites, and unmyelinated axons, while the white matter contains myelinated axons that carry signals up and down the spinal cord; major conduit for information traveling between the brain and the rest of the body

⟡ Cerebellum H & E – parts are outer molecular layer, the middle Purkinje cell layer, and the inner granular layer; involved in the coordination and regulation of voluntary movements, balance, and posture
