It comprises the skin and its appendages, serving as the body’s first line of defense and playing critical roles in protection, sensation, and regulation.

•⩊• Frog Skin – thin and moist, allowing for cutaneous respiration and has a layered structure with an outer epidermis containing mucus and poison glands, and a dermis rich in collagen and blood vessels; facilitates respiration and water balance, provides protection against pathogens, and helps in thermoregulation

•⩊• Human Palmar Skin – skin on the human palm is thick and hairless, with a highly developed epidermis to withstand friction and stress; provides a durable surface for grasping

•⩊• Human Scalp – consists of several layers, including a dense, fibrous dermis and a subcutaneous layer rich in fat; contains numerous hair follicles, sebaceous glands, and sweat glands; it protects the skull, regulates temperature, and supports hair growth

•⩊• Cat Skin w/ Hair – Cat skin is covered with a dense layer of fur, which grows from hair follicles embedded in the dermis; protect against environmental damage, aid in thermoregulation, and provide sensory input
