Activity 2D – Nervous Tissue 🔬🎨

Excitable and capable of transmitting and receiving electrochemical signals that give information to the body, nervous tissue is defined by these properties. Nervous tissue is composed of two main cell classes: neurons and neuroglia. Action potentials, which are electrochemical impulses connected biochemically to the release of chemical signals, are how neurons transmit information. In order for neurons to be supported, neuroglia are vital. Neural and glial cells work together to create intricate networks that facilitate information transfer throughout the body, enabling a variety of physiological functions as well as motor control, cognition, and perception of sensations.
