MT30 (LAB) – BActivity: Specimen Viewing on the Respiratory System’s Components 🔬🧐
The respiratory tract is a continuous system of passages formed by the respiratory organs, facilitating the flow of air into and out of the body. It has two major divisions: the upper respiratory tract and the lower respiratory tract. The upper portion is composed of the nasal cavity, pharynx, and larynx, while the lower portion comprises the trachea, primary bronchi, and the lungs. The ultimate function of this tract is to sustain respiration, in which gases are exchanged through breathing. Do you know that while you may be able to survive for weeks without food and for days without water, you can only survive without oxygen for only a matter of minutes except under special circumstances. Thus, protecting the respiratory tract is really important for survival.
