    REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM

Reproductive tissue encompasses the specialized cells and structures in organisms responsible for reproduction. For men, they include the testes (which generate both sperm and testosterone), the epididymis (which matures sperm), the vas deferens (which transports sperm), and the accessory glands (which make seminal fluid) such as the prostate, bulbourethral glands, and seminal vesicles. It involves the uterus (which promotes fetal development with its layers of endometrium and myometrium), the cervix, the vagina, the fallopian tubes (the site of conception), and the ovaries (which produce eggs and hormones). Gamete formation, hormone release, fertilization, and, in females, gestation and delivery all depend on these tissues.
