Activity: Specimen Viewing on the Integumentary System’s Components 🔬🧐

The body’s largest organ, the integumentary system, acts as a physical barrier to protect and preserve the internal environment by separating it from the outside world. The epidermis, dermis, hypodermis, connected glands, hair, and nails are all parts of the integumentary system. Apart from its barrier role, this system carries out numerous complex tasks including controlling body temperature, maintaining cell fluid, synthesizing vitamin D, and identifying stimuli. These functions are performed by the system’s many parts working together. For instance, thermoreceptors regulate body temperature by influencing peripheral blood flow, sweating intensity, and body hair.
