A cell is the smallest unit of life, consisting of a cell membrane, cytoplasm, and nucleus. The cell membrane controls what enters and exits, the cytoplasm hosts cellular activities, and the nucleus contains DNA and regulates functions. Cells can be prokaryotic (no nucleus) or eukaryotic (with nucleus).
