The difference between open source and closed source is that open source is open to the public, while the latter is not. An open source can be accessed by everyone and can be edited or modified by users if they would like to. Open sources are mostly free of charge, and only some features needs payment. Additionally, open sources being made available to the public for editing can result to online collaborations in order to rapidly fight bugs and errors that may occur in the source. On the contrary, a closed source is the opposite. Although it provides more stability, a closed source is available for the consumers and is non accessible by the public. Only authorized people can have access and modify the source. It is also much more expensive to establish compared to the open source. Lastly, if the users encounter bugs, they will still need to wait for the management to work with these bugs, but what’s good about it is that they can communicate with customer service and it will do the rest of the job; in open source, there is no customer service so it is harder to fix bugs especially if you are not an expert in the field.
