Hey, guys! I want you to breathe in and breathe out. Breathing might seem like the easiest thing we do, but our respiratory system is actually doing some serious work behind the scenes. Every breath starts at the nose or mouth, moves down through the airways, and ends up in tiny air sacs in the lungs called alveoli. Here, oxygen slips into the bloodstream to fuel our cells, while carbon dioxide—a waste product—gets sent back out with the next exhale. This cycle runs constantly without us even thinking about it, but it’s what keeps every part of us alive and running.
