    Blood cells work together to maintain balance and ensure vitality in the body. Like a garden full of insects and creatures, it coordinates to ensure that every flower or organ, leaf or tissue, receives the care and protection it needs to thrive.

    RBCs – These are represented by bees. These striped creatures fly from flower to flower and deliver pollen. Like bees, RBCs “travel” through the bloodstream and distribute oxygen to all parts of the body.

    Neutrophils – Similar to dragonflies, Neutrophils can move with precision and quickly target pests in their environment. These are known for being fast and strong responders who are the first to arrive at the site of infection.

    Lymphocytes – Spiders are known to be like strategists. They weave their webs to capture specific targets, many of which may damage the flowers. Lymphocytes are specialized cells that target and eliminate specific invaders in the body. These recognize and respond to a wide variety of pathogens.

    Monocytes – Monocytes are regarded as the blood’s “clean-up crew.” These cells engulf and digest dead cells and debris. Worms closely resemble monocytes as they break down organic material and decompose dead matter to keep the soil clean and fertile.

    Eosinophil – In the garden setting, ladybugs play a very comparable role to Eosinophils. These tiny insects are natural predators of garden pests and protect plants from harm. Though both Lymphocytes and Eosinophils target specific invaders, Eosinophils focus on combatting more specific threats like a ladybug.

    Basophil – Basophils are often recognized as the whistleblowers of the blood. They release histamine, signal nearby cells, and alert the body of inflammation. Fireflies play a similar role in the garden, they emit light to deter predators and attract attention to specific areas.

    Platelet – In times of bleeding, platelets are quick to dispatch, much like ants in their colony. They work together in an organized fashion to form a clot and stop blood loss, similar to how ants collaborate to protect their colony.
