MT 13 – GH 1 year, 3 months ago Blood enters the nephron through the glomerulus, where high pressure filters water and small solutes into the Bowman’s capsule. The filtrate then moves to the proximal convoluted tubule (PCT), where essential nutrients and water are reabsorbed. In the Loop of Henle, water is reabsorbed in the descending limb, and ions are reabsorbed in the ascending limb. The distal convoluted tubule (DCT) further adjusts the filtrate by reabsorbing ions and secreting waste products. Finally, the urine travels through the collecting duct to the minor calyx, where it is collected and transported for excretion.
