Histology Art – H | SY ‘24 – ‘25 1 year, 2 months ago Simple yet organized, the cell performs a variety of essential functions. Inside, one can discover organelles that are crucial to the cell’s function. The nucleus stores genetic information, mitochondria generate energy, ribosomes synthesize proteins, the endoplasmic reticulum facilitates protein transport, the Golgi apparatus modifies and packages proteins, and lysosomes degrade waste materials. Cells perform intracellular communication to create a well-organized organism. In humans, cells form tissues, tissues create organs, and organs interact to sustain life. This is my illustration of a cell, with its components labeled below.
