Function: It mainly protects the organs from the outside conditions by lining the tubules. It also absorbs, secretes substances, and facilitates diffusion of molecules depending on which organ it is found in the body. For instance, simple cuboidal epithelium in the gastrointestinal tract secretes digestive enzymes. At the testes, it provides a covering at the outer lining of seminiferous tubules. Overall, its specific function is suited to the function of the organ it makes up.Simple cuboidal epithelium is found at the following body locations:
* Kidneys (kidney tubules)
* Bronchial walls of the lungs
* Ovaries
* Testes
* Ducts of salivary glands
* Pancreas
