The simple cuboidal epithelium is a type of tissue made up of a single layer of cube-shaped cells. Each cell looks like a small box or cube, and the nucleus (the control center of the cell) is usually round and found in the center.

This kind of tissue is found in places where the body needs to absorb substances or release them, like in the kidney tubules (where urine is made), the glands (like sweat or salivary glands), and the surface of the ovaries. Because the cells are not too flat or too tall, they’re great at doing tasks like absorbing fluids, filtering waste, or secreting hormones.

In simple terms, simple cuboidal epithelium acts like a helpful team of small boxes that line tubes and organs, working hard to take in or send out what the body needs.
