Histology is the study of the microscopic structure of tissues in plants and animals. It involves examining cells and how they organize into tissues using microscopes and special staining techniques. For BS Medical Technology students like me, histology is really important because it helps us understand how normal tissues look and function at the microscopic level. This knowledge is essential because it forms the foundation for recognizing abnormalities or diseases when we examine patient samples in the lab. Without a strong grasp of histology, it would be difficult to accurately identify infections, cancers, or other medical conditions through tissue biopsies and other diagnostic tests. In short, histology equips us with the skills to support diagnosis and treatment by providing detailed insights into the body’s tissues, making it a crucial subject in our medical technology education.
