MT 30 (LEC) – CC 1 year ago Nervous tissue transmits signals among the brain, spinal cord, and the rest of the body. It enables us to think, feel, and react to the world about us. The tissue consists of nerve cells known as neurons and support cells. Neurons transmit signals, but the supporting cells supply and guard them. Nervous tissue regulates body functions and enables us to react rapidly to changes.
