This form of muscle tissue is primarily linked to bones and is controlled voluntarily. It is made up of long, striated, multinucleated muscle fibers arranged in bundles and encased in layers of connective tissue (epimysium, perimysium, and endomysium). Body movement, posture, joint stability, and heat production are all made possible by skeletal muscle.
