Upon reading this article, I learned that even though quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) may sound interchangeable, they serve distinct roles in modern quality management, especially in regulated fields like pharmacy and medical devices. QA is proactive, focusing on systems, processes, and planning to ensure products meet intended standards before they’re made, while QC is reactive, inspecting and testing finished products to catch defects.
So in short, it’s like QA prevents problems before they happen, while QC detects and fixes them after they occur, and both are essential for consistent product quality.
