MT30 – BB (LEC) 1 month, 3 weeks ago Hello everyone, It’s me, your island girl who truly loves the ocean, not only for its sunsets, sand, and clear beaches, but also for the beautiful wonders beneath its surface. I swam in the deep blue sea at a very young age without fear, even when I could hardly catch my breath. At that time, I did not know sharks existed because no one ever told me. This is how we saw the ocean, full of colors and magic, a world that not everyone gets to experience. February 14 is our family day, but because of exams, I cannot go home. I have been missing my family deeply. Through this artwork, I chose to represent myself, my family, and my friends as small “neurons” floating like algae in the depths of the ocean, even if we somehow resemble jellyfishes. I wanted to be a mermaid, but I cannot draw myself as a mermaid that looks like a neuron.
For now, I hope this piece brings you a sense of home, just as it brings comfort to me. ?
