MT30 – DD (LEC) 2 weeks, 5 days ago I chose a basketball jump shot as the specific intramurals moment because it places significant force and pressure on the skeletal system, particularly the long bones. The tissue working hardest in this moment is bone tissue. I illustrated trabecular (spongy) bone to show how it absorbs and distributes impact during landing, the Haversian canal to represent nutrient and blood supply, and lacunae with osteocytes to demonstrate the living cells responsible for maintaining bone structure. This artwork highlights how bone is not just rigid support but a dynamic tissue that adapts to physical exertion.
