“Empty Spaces”
by Jane Andrea Villafuertewhen you watch the night sky
you don’t just see the stars,
you see the empty spaces between —
you see the void.
and that resonates with you,
that’s why you keep on watching them,
for they are beautiful.
you keep on admiring them,
for they do not apologize
for the space they take.
you keep on wondering why
they do not hesitate to glow.
and that is why you keep on watching the night sky.
you wander
and you wonder,
even though it hurts.
because somewhere,
in that void,
in that vast universe —
between those empty spaces,
there is a place for unborn stars.
sometime in this lifetime,
another star will be born.
and that star will take space,
and it will glow brightly —
it will shine unapologetically.
so don’t stop —
wait,
wander,
and wonder,
and watch the night sky again.
Here’s a taste of an asymptotic story :,)
Short poem written by Jane Andrea Villafuerte.“Oil and Water”
we’re like oil and water
trapped in a never ending conquest
forever fighting to conquer one
but can’twe’re like oil and water
where you are oil
floating around my fluidity
forever taking all my might
just to make sure i catch my timewe’re like oil and water
where i am the silent water
humid against your touch
dropping every bit of tear
just to make sure i’ll belongwe’re like oil and water
you as oil
me as water
present together
but never touching one anotheryou go your way
i go mine
we go separate ways
yet there’s this feeling of belongingnessbut we can never mix together
we can never collide
neither collaborate
nor prosper
because that’s what everyone else saysso we sit there
forever trying
to mix the depths of our minds
although opposing
it will be fulfilling
not only for the water
but also for the oil
to finally be able
to flow into each other’s arms
but can’tso just like that
i watch the oil
float beyond my reach
forever trying
to embrace the power
of my heart and mind,
the serenity
of my patience and virtues,
the beauty
of my heart and soul,
exactly like how my dreams
try to embrace me
but can’tand i am trapped in this conquest
do you think you can help me?
Here’s a stirring poem for the dreamers held with blind scars, written by Jasper Dagondon.
“I Want to Ride on those Clouds”
I want to ride on those clouds
And I’ll travel on a distant shore
To see the world round and blue
And discover what I haven’t before.I want to ride on those clouds
I want to feel the wind as I sit
Together with the birds and angels,
I want to sing the song it creates!I want to ride on those clouds
I want to fly high and high and high!
I want to reach my loving star
And live with her in the sky.I want to ride on those clouds
I want to reach the heavens above
Because I’m now in a so cold hell
Who’s searching for care and love.
