DEVOTIONAL:
Falling short of the glory of God does not mean scoring 90% out of 100%, and missing 10%, that “I just need to do a little more to make it.” In fact, falling short of the glory of God is not even producing 1%. We are so self-righteous that we do not even know we owe God a great debt for our sinfulness. God, in His holiness and perfect righteousness, is not just displeased with what we consider as good works. He is disgusted with it. As the prophet Isaiah said, “all your righteousness are as filthy rags.” But there is One whose righteousness pleased God. He is Jesus Christ. And His righteousness can be ours only by faith…alone.

In contrast to the Holiness of God, man is utterly depraved. For the month of November we will be sharing Bible verses on the sinfulness of man. This is not to discourage us all but to point out that man must not put hope in himself for salvation. Man has only One hope and that is Jesus Christ who is Lord of all and Savior to those who believe.
