One of the basic definitions of management is getting things done through other people. Managers prefer to work with others. They decide upon goals based on necessity and are therefore strongly tied to the organization as it currently exists. Management has no meaning apart from its goals. Managers, therefore, keep organizational goals in mind at all times.
