What is LIS and its Uses?
The LIS is at the center of clinical laboratory information management. It is a combination of software, hardware, and operating systems created to support the clinical laboratory’s operational procedures. Depending on the requirements of each laboratory, the LIS setup can be altered and is highly versatile.
In order to effectively manage the information flow between patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratories, LIS must be planned to optimize both laboratory operations and individualized clinical care. The use of laboratory information systems can enhance both patient care and laboratory operations (Young, et.al, 2013). Handling patient check-in, order entry, specimen processing, result entry, and patient demographics are some of the common basic laboratory information systems used. LIS also records and retains clinical information about a patient and keeps the data recorded in its database for further use (DelVecchio, 2015).
What is AI and its Implication on Health-Related Jobs?
Machine learning and deep learning AI techniques play a key role in enhancing new clinical systems. Providers of patient care and intelligent health systems can benefit from artificial intelligence. Healthcare digitization provides a diverse range of opportunities for reducing human errors, enhancing clinical results, monitoring data over time, etc. (Usyal et al. 2020; Zebene et al. 2019). The most effective methods for diagnosing various ailments are also those based on artificial intelligence. It provides previously unrecognized opportunities to recover patient and clinical group results, cut expenditures, etc. thanks to the use of computerized reasoning (AI) in healthcare.
