The reproductive system ensures the survival of the species. Other systems in the body, such as the endocrine and urinary systems, work continuously to maintain homeostasis for the survival of the individual. An individual may live a long, healthy, and happy life without producing offspring, but if the species is to continue, at least some individuals must produce offspring.

I am sharing here a photo of the uterus when seen under the microscope. I am sure that many of us are familiar with what the uterus functions for, after all, it was once our home haha. Anyways, the uterus to me is an essential organ that a woman has especially since most of us probably wants to have our own family in the future as well. But what really is the uterus? The uterus is a hollow, pear-shaped organ that is the home to a developing fetus. The uterus is divided into two parts: the cervix, which is the lower part that opens into the vagina, and the main body of the uterus, called the corpus. The corpus can easily expand to hold a developing baby. A canal through the cervix allows sperm to enter and menstrual blood to exit.
