The picture shows a section of the kidney of a frog where the kind of tissue present is Simple Cuboidal Epithelium. It is a type of tissue that is found lining parts of organs and ducts in the body. This is a single row or layer of cube-shaped cells attached to a basement membrane and is plain in its appearance, compared to stratified epithelium tissues, and often with microvilli. The cuboidal cells have large, spherical and central nuclei. This type of cell is responsible for absorption and secretion, such as production of mucus. Which explains why this is often found on the surface of ovaries, the lining of nephrons, the parts of the eye and thyroid, and mostly, on the kidney tubules. This is, by far, one of the best representations of tissues in our laboratory class. (Actually posted this 4 days ago, Sir. Pero nawala. Hehe.)
