    Why Is Histology Important?

Histology, being the study of tissues, is of paramount importance if we were to understand, in much detail, health and our bodies (even that of animals). Looking deeper into what constitutes our tissues are cells. Studying the cell structures of different tissues allow us to understand their peculiar function, such as identifying cell shapes (flat, cuboidal, and columnar) among others, which tell us the concept of the role an organ—made up of these types of cells—plays inside the body. In that regard, an individual studying tissues would be able to distinguish a standard, healthy tissue from what is otherwise unusual. Histology is one of the primary roles of pathologists, examining tissues to diagnose an illness, cause of death, and other clinical purposes. That being said, histology is without a doubt truly important, not just in health sciences, but in human life most certainly as well.
