UMBILICAL CORD | REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM TISSUE
🛈 Structure: The umbilical cord is a bundle of blood vessels encased by a tubular sheath of amnion. It is composed of two pairs of umbilical arteries and an umbilical vein.
🛈 Function: It is essential for the passage of nutrients, oxygen, and waste products to and from the fetus.
🛈 Location: This tissue is connected to the fetus at the umbilicus and center of the placental bulk.
