Activity #7: The Respiratory System
____________________________________________________________
🛈 WHAT IS THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM?
The human respiratory system comprises a network of organs and structures facilitating gas exchange. These include the lungs for gas diffusion, the nasal cavity and trachea for air passage, and the diaphragm and rib cage muscles for respiratory mechanics. This coordinated system enables the vital processes of oxygen acquisition during inhalation and carbon dioxide elimination during exhalation.
Here below, I have illustrated and labeled 4 respiratory tissues, namely: the mammal trachea, bronchiole, epiglottis, and larynx.
