The large intestine is approximately 5 feet long and 3 inches in diameter. Water is absorbed by the colon from wastes, resulting in stool. Nerves in the rectum cause the urge to defecate as feces enters. -
The appendix is at the lower right corner of your abdomen. The appendix is a four-inch-long, thin tube that is part of your digestive tract.
