Quality Assurance involves making sure that the entirety of operations are done within well-defined limits of acceptability to produce quality results. This includes the employment of standard operating procedures, training, reliable and well-maintained equipment, traceability, and annual review of Quality Control Results. On the other hand, Quality Control is a component of Quality Assurance that focuses on evaluating practices to identify problems that may be degrading the quality of results. This includes the provision of standard reference materials, spike samples, and certification programs.
The Levey-Jennings quality control chart employs control limits to assess whether the measurement process is performing within acceptable bounds and is based on the statistical process control (SPC) concepts. The mean and standard deviation of a group of QC data points gathered over time are used to calculate control limits. The normal setting for these bounds is +/- 2 or 3 standard deviations from the mean. The QC data is plotted with time on the y-axis, and the control limits are plotted on the x-axis to form a Levey-Jennings chart. The mean and control limits are represented on the chart as horizontal lines, and each data point is depicted as a dot or a \”x\” instead. Following that, the chart is scrutinized for any trends, changes, or outliers that might point to an issue with the measuring procedure. The Levey-Jennings chart is frequently used in clinical laboratories to track test performance and guarantee trustworthy and accurate results. It is a straightforward yet effective quality control technique that may be used to spot issues and address them before they endanger patients.
Here is a video to further explain the chart!
Material management roots its significance in keeping operations organized. In the laboratory, it ensures that the laboratory can effectively provide its services and efficiently carry out all its functions. It makes sure that the resources and materials are properly stored, maintained in number, accounted for, used, and disposed. In my life, material management is essential because it helps me keep track of my resources. It helps me make sure that I am not lacking anything, which ultimately aids me in fulfilling my responsibilities in different aspects of my life.

A standard is a substance that is used to validate analytical procedures, calibrate analytical instruments, and verify the quality and metrological traceability of items. The value is precise. A control is employed as a standard or a point of reference for comparison with other test findings.
