Course Insight
As a medical technology student, learning about the Laboratory Information System(LIS) provided me with valuable knowledge related to utilizing and managing laboratory data efficiently and effectively. I gained an understanding about its functions, purpose, and context with regards to the medical laboratory. This includes the tasks and responsibilities of personnel using this system, and its great help in laboratory management. A Laboratory information system’s components such as database, instrument interface, and many more, also helped in my understanding of the architecture behind LIS.
Data management and integration was also brought into light how to handle and organize different types of information such as results and quality control/ assessment, and how important it is in a laboratory setting.
Overall, this course provided me with insightful information and prepared me in ensuring quality and accurate data management, and the effectiveness of Laboratory Information System(LIS) in the medical laboratory.
What is system analysis and design?
System analysis and design frequently focus on how system behave, how they relate to other subsystems, and how well can it accomplish a given objective. Analyzing a system’s output quality and performance is frequently involved in this.
