    HISTOLOGY ART: MUSCLE TISSUE
The muscle tissue is the machinery for body movement. It is composed of protein filaments known as actin and myosin. These minuscule components drive your body to move! It is what makes your eyes blink and your feet run.
The cardiac muscle is one of the three types of muscle tissue. It is only located in the myocardium of your heart and functions only in movement. It is integral in ensuring your heart does not damage itself when pumping blood.

    Fun fact:
Did you know that the fastest moving muscle tissue is found in your eye? The muscles that control eye movement are incredibly fast and precise, contracting and relaxing in less than 100 milliseconds.
