📚 Description: Striated muscle, l.s. is a segment of muscle tissue sliced along its longitudinal axis, also known as the striated muscle longitudinal section. The layout of muscle fibers is shown in this section as striations, which are bands that alternate between light and dark (BYJU’s, n.d.). The patterns of these bands show how the contractile proteins are arranged within the muscle fibers; actin is found in the light bands, whereas myosin is found in the dark bands.
