    • The gastrointestinal (GI) tract, as well as your liver, pancreas, and gallbladder, make up your digestive system. From your mouth to your anus, the GI tract is a collection of hollow organs that are connected to one another. Your mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus are the organs that make up your GI tract, in order of connection. Your digestive system is built specifically to convert your food into the nutrients and energy you require to live. When that’s done, it neatly wraps your solid waste, or stool, for disposal the next time you have a bowel movement.
      1. Intestine – the digestive system is comprised of two different kinds of intestines, the large and the small intestine. The small intestine is a 22-foot muscular tube that uses enzymes from the pancreas and bile from the liver to break down food. Meanwhile the large intestine is made up of the colon, rectum, and anus. As food nears the finish of its journey through your digestive system, it’s all one long tube that continues from the small intestine. When you poop, the big intestine converts food waste into stool and excretes it from the body.

      2. The duodenum – The initial segment of the small intestine is the duodenum. It is situated between the stomach and the jejunum, the middle section of the small intestine. Foods go into the duodenum after mixing with stomach acid, where they mix with bile from the gallbladder and digestive secretions from the pancreas.

      3. Appendix – The appendix is a tiny tube-shaped pouch that connects your big intestine to your stomach. It’s on the right side of your abdomen, lower right. The appendix’s specific purpose is unknown. However, it’s thought to aid in the recovery of diarrhea, inflammation, and small and large intestinal infections.
