After reading this article, I was able to realize and recognize the need for routine health checks and specialized health promotion for those with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Physical health issues must be better recognized and incorporated with psychiatric treatment in mental health care. Those with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder need access to high-quality health treatment, and stigma and discrimination towards people with mental illnesses must be eliminated. People with serious mental problems' life expectancy should be included as a standard performance indicator in health-care systems.
