A cell is the smallest, membrane-bound unit that consists of organelles, each having its own functions that work together as one unit. For my cell interpretation, I compared the cell to a car and its parts as they are very similar.

The car doors are like the Cell Membrane because they control and allow what goes in and out of the car.

The steering wheel is like the Nucleus because its job is to control the activities inside and it controls the direction of the car.

The car wheels are like Flagella because they allow the car to move just like the flagella allow movement of the cell.

The gas pedal is like the ribosome because it translates or interprets the driver’s desire to move and accelerate the speed of the car.

The fuel tank is like the Golgi apparatus because it packages or sends the fuel to the motor of the car for it to run.

The car exhaust is like the Lysosome because it secretes or releases the car’s discharges and removes harmful substances just like how lysosomes break down excess or worn-out cell parts.

The car trunk is like the Vacuole because they are both used to store materials.

The car’s interior is like the Cytoplasm because it holds all the parts inside the car.

The windshield wipers are like the Cilia because they move to wipe off dirt or water just like the cilia preventing foreign particles from invading the cell.

Lastly, the battery is like the Mitochondria because it powers up the car to give it energy to run.
