MT 14 – BB 3 years, 2 months ago A health system comprises all organizations, institutions and resources (elements) that are devoted to producing health actions. All medical services are delivered through a health system. A strong health system will ensure that everyone is able to access high-quality healthcare without financial difficulty.
The Philippine health system has undergone tremendous change while facing numerous difficulties over time. Delivery of health services was transferred to Local Government Units (LGUs) in 1991, but for a variety of reasons, the fragmentation problem has not been fully resolved. Underemployment, scarcity, and unequal distribution are issues that health human resource departments face. 50% of the health system is made up of the private sector, which is actively involved, but the government’s regulatory capabilities have not yet been completely utilized.
The Philippine health care system is bad in terms of the shortage of hospitals and outdated equipment used in health care. The scope of the healthcare system isn’t wide enough to support every Filipino. In a way, our health care can be also consider to be good in terms of highly trained manpower in the medical field. The downfall of which that are medical practitioners are undervalued and underpaid.
