    ‌Activity 2D: Nervous Tissue
    Medium: Color pencil

    Description: 📚

The nervous tissue comprises the brain, spinal cord, and the nerves in the body. This tissue is responsible for the coordination and control of numerous functions. These functions include reasoning, muscle contraction, homeostasis, balance, and many others.

    Portrayed tissues: 🎨

The spinal cord tissue (1) is responsible for transmitting electrochemical signals from the body to the brain and vice versa. The picture below shows a picture of spinal cord neurons that are stained and viewed from a high-definition microscope.

The cerebrum tissue (2) is the biggest part of the brain and is responsible for our conscious actions.

The cerebellum tissue (3) is located at the back of the brain and is responsible for balance and posture.

Lastly, the nerve fiber tissue (4) a bundle of axons, found in the PNS that primarily transmit electrical impulses.

Note: All drawings were based on the microscopic images provided by our instructor except for the spinal cord (1). The drawing is based on an online source listed below.
