Medium: Color pencil
Description: 📚
The circulatory system consists of the blood vessels, heart, and blood. Blood is transported in the vessels and pumped by the heart. Arteries carry oxygenated blood away from the heart, and the veins return deoxygenated blood to the heart. There are also the capillaries that have thin walls. This is where products and waste are exchanged. This system provides oxygen, nutrients, wastes, and other substances to the different parts of the body. These vessels operate in a single direction to ensure efficient and proper circulation.
Portrayed tissues: 🎨
The artery (1) is a thick-walled vessel with a smaller lumen. It delivers oxygenated blood to the body.
The vein (2) and splenic vein (3) in the spleen have thinner walls and larger lumen. These vessels deliver deoxygenated blood from the body.
Lastly, the vena cava (4) is a large vein that delivers deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
Note: All drawings were based on the microscopic images provided by our instructor.
