The integumentary system, or the “skin,” is the largest organ of the human body. It is the external portion and it protects our body from environmental and external elements. The epidermis, dermis, hypodermis, related glands, hair, and nails make up this system.
Portrayed Tissues: 🎨
The skin (1) is composed of stratified keratinized squamous epithelium and a base connective tissue that nourishes and supports it. This organ gets damaged frequently. Luckily, the stratum basale is active in this organ.
The human hair (2) is also part of this system. It protects the body as well as regulates body temperature.
The human scalp (3) is the skin on top of the head. It is heavily populated with hair follicles and more vascularized than the other skins.
Lastly, the human palmar skin (4) is thick. It has no hair, but it has more sweat glands than the other skin.
