Hello! My name is Gin Paul Flores, a second year BS MedTech student, and I am excited to embark on this new journey as a continuing student in Silliman University!
For me, whole person education is, based on the name itself, the study and knowledge of one self as a whole or holistically. It touches not only on the academic aspect of a person, but also his or her mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social self. It challenges a person to delve into one’s being, visible or not visible, and improves and develops their qualities to be a better version of themselves.
Bible verse for Finals Week:
“Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.”

What is the importance of material management in the laboratory and your life?
Material management is essential in keeping the laboratory in good performance, making sure that everything is done according to schedule, or supply and demand. It is important in keeping track of all supplies of the materials necessary for the procedures done in the laboratory and notifies to restock supply of reagents, containers, and such materials, just in time and contained at the right place. It is important in reducing waste because material management makes sure that the number of supplies is just enough for a certain time period and for its demand, and also saves up on extra costs. Material management can help increase production efficiency, reduce inventory loss, and reduce costs for those losses. This is also applicable to my personal life, because as a student, you are always on a budget. Thankfully I have supporting parents who can provide me with my necessities, but I also independently manage my day-to-day expenses. My parents even noted how thrifty I am and how I always look for more affordable ways to survive. But besides that, it helps me and my family track how much food is stocked at home so we can eat at the right time; we have enough toiletries, basic needs, and self-care products so we feel comfortable; and we can save money from avoiding spoiled food and products.
