03/12/24NERVOUS TISSUE
Our CNS and PNS comprises of nervous tissues. It has dendrites that detect stimuli, axons that send signal away from the nucleus. Moreover, neurons rely on action potential for excitation and the production of current that can pass from one nerve cell to another. Ions are the fuels for triggering the action potential. One distinct characteristic of nerve tissues is that they never undergo mitosis, hence they can never be regenerated once damaged, which is why it is important to take care of our defense lines that protect them all around our body.
