Other tissues and organs in the body are supported, protected, and given structure by connective tissue.
The major function of osseous tissue is to generate bones enabling the body to move by allowing muscles and tendons to connect to them.
Adipose tissue, or fat tissue, is made up primarily of fat cells (adipocytes). Adipocytes are fat-storing cells with big globules of fat called lipid droplets which are supported by a network of fibers.
The only liquid tissue that our body has is blood. It is approximately 5 liters, accounting for 8% of an adult’s weight. It is made up of cells and formed components floating in its intercellular matrix, the plasma.
