One of the most important things I learned was the significance of choosing the right candidates who can help enhance the Philippine healthcare system. This requires a thorough understanding of the laws and systems, so that informed decisions can be made to positively impact healthcare. The issue of hazard pay for healthcare workers caught my attention. As Miss Arabelle pointed out, hazard pay is unfairly distributed. Healthcare workers in the country have been protesting their wages for a long time. It’s just not right that they work more than eight hours and put their lives at risk to help others, but their pay is still not enough and they don’t even get overtime pay. It’s clear that something is not right with the system and the way laws and policies are being implemented. This is one of the reasons why we’re struggling with our healthcare system. Healthcare workers are choosing to work abroad, leaving us with limited services and inadequate staff. It’s something we should all be aware of and concerned about because it affects all Filipinos directly.
