• Morphological Features: Transitional epithelium is specialized for stretching and can appear cuboidal or columnar when not stretched and flat when stretched. It has a unique ability to transition between shapes due to its flexible structure.
• Location: This tissue lines the urinary bladder, ureters, and part of the urethra, allowing these organs to expand and contract.2. Elastic Cartilage (Connective Tissue)
• Morphological Features: Elastic cartilage contains a dense network of elastic fibers along with chondrocytes in lacunae. This gives it a flexible yet strong structure, allowing it to withstand repeated bending.
• Location: Elastic cartilage is found in structures requiring elasticity, such as the epiglottis, the auricle of the ear, and the Eustachian tubes.3. Cerebellum (Nervous Tissue)
• Morphological Features: Nervous tissue is composed of neurons and glial cells. In the cerebellum, you can see distinct layers: the molecular layer (with a rich network of neuron processes), the Purkinje layer (containing large Purkinje cells), and the granule layer (with small, densely packed granule cells). The white matter contains myelinated axons.
