\”For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.\” – Jeremiah 29:11 | NKJV
Jeremiah 29:11 emphasizes God\’s faithfulness and care for His people, even during difficult times. We are assured that God has a purpose for each individual and intends to bring them blessings and a hopeful future. It is our reminder of God\’s loving intentions and to encourage trust and hope in His plans. God has great plans for us. We must have faith in His plans, let go, and let God.
This is for my roller coaster journey in HIS.
P.S. I\’m afraid of heights.I hated the subject.
As someone who is not as invested and interested in the recent advancements in technology (not techy as well), most of the time, I was confused. I did not know how to navigate getaprofessor, I did not know which button to click — I felt like I was a 70-year-old learning to use social media for the first time.
But if I was to take this subject, I decided I might as well comply and make the most out of the experience even if I wasn\’t naturally interested. I forced myself to try and understand the mechanisms of HIS, how it works, and how it is important in the medical field. In my pursuit of \’tolerating\’ the subject, and half the time complaining how confusing everything is for me, I am actually quite surprised to say that I actually learned a few important things here:
The most important one — I learned about chatGPT.
On a more serious note, though, I learned that HIS is basically a platform for medical professionals to organize everything related to the job, from patient records, to buying supplies, to designating a task for everyone in the group more efficiently than you would be able to do manually. Throughout the course of the semester, we have always been taught of the importance of quality samples, quality supplies, quality service — and a well-working and well-managed HIS does just that.
I am happy to learn things from the lessons. Truly. But far more important than the learnings I gained through hours upon hours of lessons are the values and realizations that HIS has cultivated within me throughout the semester.
1. Things are not as bad as as they seem. I used to hate HIS, but now I wish I had more time learning about it on a deeper level.
2. Get out of your comfort zone. Growth starts when you start deviating away from the \’easy way\’.3. Time is precious. The things you set aside to do for later will eventually come back up to haunt you.
4. One\’s values will be tested in times of great distress. We are all different in a group, and we all have different opinions and thoughts on things. We need to learn to listen to other people as well and work with them despite these differences. One\’s character is uncovered by how he treats other people in times when it seems all hope is lost.My journey in HIS is pretty much a roller coaster ride of someone who has fear of heights. I wanted to throw up most of the time. If that\’s not the case, I wanted to cry out of fear and just jump off. In my head, I wanted everything to stop or slow down. But it didn\’t. So I held on (tightly, because I was struggling tbh). It might have been rough ride for me, but in my heart I know that when I get off, I\’ll miss the thrill, I\’ll miss the unpredictability, I\’ll miss the rush. Thus my greatest achievement in this subject is not finishing nor making it to the end of the semester. It\’s learning to love and appreciate the subject I hated so much in the beginning.
Material Management is the systematic process of overseeing and controlling the acquisition of supplies to ensure availability and cost effectiveness.
It is important because it maximizes the efficiency of using resources because it prevents overstocking, and encourages timely acquisition of materials. It also reduces cost-production and ensures that the required materials are available when needed, which helps in minimizing production delays and improving overall productivity.
Material management also ensures that resources are of good quality and helps in identifying potential risks in the supply chain, such as supply disruptions or quality issues, and taking proactive measures to mitigate them.

A policy sets out the strategic direction of the organization as decided by senior management. A policy will lay out a destination, but won’t give any direction on how this is to be executed. For example a policy would contain a statement such as: ‘Time and attendance with be tracked for all staff and contractors in a clear and consistent way’, but wouldn’t give any indication as to how that should be done.
‘A process is a set of inter-related activities that turn inputs into outputs.
A procedure or work instruction should detail the exact steps an individual would need to go through to complete any activity detailed in a process. Continuing on the time and attendance theme, a procedure may have the instruction: ‘The time and attendance spreadsheet can be found in the HR folder of the network drive. Populate the employee number and hours worked in columns C and D’.
