Good day, everyone!! Attached below is a picture of my Activity 5 (Digestive Tissues). This also includes a brief description:Frog stomach: The frog stomach is a muscular sac that stores and breaks down swallowed food with the help of strong acids (National Institutes of Health], 2013).
Human appendix: The appendix is a small finger-shaped pouch attached to your large intestine. Its exact purpose is unknown, but it might help fight infection (Mayo Clinic, 2023).
Jejunum mammal: The jejunum is the middle part of the mammal’s small intestine, where most of the nutrients from food are absorbed into the bloodstream (National Library of Medicine, 2021).
Frog small intestine c.s: The frog’s small intestine is a long, thin tube where digested food mixes with juices to absorb nutrients (National Institutes of Health , 2013).
Cardiac stomach: The cardiac stomach is the first, muscular part of the bird’s stomach that stores swallowed food (University of California Museum of Paleontology [UCMP], n.d.).
Human esophagus upper region: The upper part of the esophagus is a muscular tube that connects your mouth to your stomach. It squeezes food down when you swallow (National Institutes of Health, 2020).
Human duodenum: The duodenum is the first, short part of the small intestine where food mixes with digestive juices from the pancreas and liver (MedlinePlus, n.d.).
Frog small intestine: Unlike humans, frogs have a shorter small intestine relative to their body size. This is because their diet consists mainly of insects and other small prey, which are easier to digest than plant-based foods (National Institutes of Health, 2013).
Tonsil human: The tonsils are small lumps of tissue in the back of your throat that help fight infection (Mayo Clinic, 2023).
Jejunum human: As mentioned earlier, the jejunum is the middle part of the small intestine, where most of the nutrients from food are absorbed into the bloodstream (National Library of Medicine, 2021).REFERENCES:
